What if robots were used for an activity that is uttlerly human: playing ? In a workshop centred around the theme of Arcade Games, we will develop projects, that integrate game mechanics (such as scoring, timing, movement control) into robotic interactions.

We will be working with two collaborative robot arms: We will first learn about how to control a robot and then learn how to add peripherals: how to wire input devices such as a button or a joystick, and output device like a light or a buzzer. These external devices can be used to control the robot and act alongside the robot’s movements.

Working in small groups, the robot should be used to create interactive arcade experiences, ranging from recreating existing concepts to inventing new interactive experiences. The workshop is open to all, there is no prior knowledge of robotics is required.
